Survivalist: (Class Calendar)
In a team setting, the survivalist is the hunter/gatherer, while overseeing shelter
and fire strategies that will keep the team warm and dry with a minimum of effort.
She or he has to be skilled at reading the land and understanding what resources
are available for the team, and how best to maintain those resources both short
and long term. This specialty requires skills in primitive hunting, fishing, trapping,
individual and team shelters, fire, tracking, connection to local ecology.

The survivalist skills are the skills required to stay warm and dry with plenty
of food and clean water.
The survivalist must be able to track, set snares, hunt using primitive and modern
weapons, fish using primitive and modern weapons, know plant (and insect) foods,
manage fire and shelter in all weather conditions, and be strongly connected to
the patterns and cycles of the earth.
While all specialties require a compassion for the earth, this specialty is probably
the most attuned to that understanding.
